His Only Child
Eph. 1:3-7 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath BLESSED us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath CHOSEN us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the ADOPTION of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved. In whom we have REDEMPTION through his blood, the FORGIVENESS of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
I love the book of Ephesians. I guess because it helps me to realize what I have in Christ. My Mama raised five of us kids by herself. Money was really scarce, but we were together and that meant a lot. Though she was not emotionally stable at times (who would be raising a family that big alone) she did the best she could and I am so thankful for her. Even so, I did grow up feeling inferior and insecure. On becoming a Christian at sixteen, I started to learn that the Bible said that God loved me so much that He gave His only begotten Son for me. Wonderful story.... that Jesus died to pay for the sins of the world and more specifically, mine. And so now..according to Ephesians 1:3-7. .I am blessed, I have been chosen, I have been adopted, I have been accepted, I have been redeemed, I have been forgiven. Inferior, insecure? I don't think so. "He loves me like I was His only child, I've never been so loved before, who could ever ask for more...He loves me like I was His only child."
